Scripture Memory

"These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."   Deuteronomy 6:6-9

The importance of memorizing and meditating upon God's word is emphasized in scripture as an important part of our Christian walk. In Luke, it tells us that the Holy Spirit will give us the words to say, so having scripture saved up in our minds is helpful and we will be able to recall it when we need it most.

Each term, we expect our students to learn 12 verses and recite them to an adult, either at home or at school. One verse will be due every Friday. We would like your child to learn the verses in order, as they share the gospel when done in sequence.

It is important that your child knows the meaning of the verse that they are studying and why we are learning it, so please ask them questions about their memory verse at home too.

If your child would like to do extra and increase their mark, they will have to learn the "Bonus" verses at the end.

Please help your child to remember to study their memory verse and to help them stay on track.
